We offer dental fillings for children who have developed minor cavities or tooth damage. The filling is used to restore the structure and health of your child’s tooth. A composite, or tooth-colored, filling not only repairs the damage but also blends in perfectly with the rest of your child’s smile.
Your child’s filling can be placed in a single visit with our pediatric dentists. We will use a local anesthetic to make sure that your child is comfortable throughout their appointment. Then, we will gently remove any decayed tooth material or, if necessary, reshape the damaged area. We will then add the filling material and mold it to fit the shape of your child’s tooth. The final step is hardening the material to create a lasting tooth restoration.
An untreated area of tooth decay or damage could lead to discomfort or an infection and could result in the loss of a tooth. With that in mind, it is important that you contact our office as soon as you notice an issue with your child’s teeth, or if they let you know they have a problem with their smile.
If you would like to see if your child needs a dental filling, call our office for an appointment with our pediatric dentists.
